Good Website Photography Will Keep Your Website Attractive

Good photos can make it…bad photos can break it. One of the things that always comes up in my consultations with potential clients are photos and usually when people aren’t satisfied with their current website, it’s because of some janky amateur photos. If you can afford a photographer, hire one. If not, not to worry. You don’t necessarily need to or go out and buy all the fancy equipment. Most smartphone cameras are well capable of high-quality photos and by the time you run them thru a good editing software, you’ve got yourself some professional looking photos. Do this until you can do better. There are tons of tips I’d like to give you, but I will give you two of the best for now. Lighting is everything! Natural light preferably. It makes all the difference. If you want more light, get an inexpensive LED light. They are super cheap, I have one from Amazon. The bonus is it has 3-5 settings plus it’s a tripod. Boom! Backgrounds are just as important as what is being photographed. If you have products, try using white backgrounds, your background should be consistent with all photos. Cheap hack: use a white piece of cardboard. You can also purchase a light box if you want to take it a step further. Stock photos: Another whole topic…I’m definitely a fan, but there are limitations. Eventually you will need to invest in your own photos because there are chances you will start to see the same photos everywhere. Look, I’m not a photographer, but I’ve been around enough to give a few tips and I know what works for websites. Good photos are the quickest way to upgrade your website.
