Hi, I’m LaShonda.

Designer, storyteller, midlife mama, and the heart behind Watch What Grows & Liveish Media.

How It Started

Before I ever designed a website for someone else, I was a girl teaching myself how to create magic online. My first step into entrepreneurship was stationery—mixing paper textures, printing orders, packing boxes at the kitchen table. Then came my first blog, a party + entertaining space where I tinkered with layouts just for fun, never knowing I was teaching myself web design with every swap, tweak, and theme change.

Where It Grew

Today, my work still lives at that crossroads of creativity and curiosity. Liveish Media holds the part of me that loves design, clarity, and helping others build digital homes that feel like them. And Watch What Grows is where I write from the porch—slow, honest, seasonal reflections about motherhood, plants, food, memory, and the quiet, steady growth that happens while we’re busy living life. Both sides matter. Both are true. And everything I create now sits in that middle space, where design meets storytelling, and where life, in all its seasons, continues to grow.

If you’re new here, you’re welcome!

If you’ve landed here, you’re already part of my porch. Whether you came for gardening notes, digital guidance, recipes, motherhood honesty, or just something gentle to read while you drink your tea — I’m glad you’re here.

What Matters to Me

  • Raising good humans
  • Creativity as identity, not obligation
  • Home + garden + kitchen + porch
  • Slow seasons and tiny joys
  • Meaningful digital designs
  • Community, warmth, and belonging

A Taste of What I Share on Watch What Grows…

This isn’t just a cake—it’s my mother’s hands, Sunday afternoons, laughter in the kitchen, and the smell of vanilla settling into the walls. I shared it on Substack not as a recipe, but as a keepsake. If you love family history, slow baking, and the way food holds memory, you’ll feel right at home in my newsletter.

Subscribe Here If you subscribe, you’ll get more than recipes—you’ll get the stories behind them, the garden notes, the slow mornings, the kitchen memories, the gentle reminders, and the little things that turn ordinary days into something worth savoring.

My Gallery

These are the little pieces of my life—the porch mornings, kitchen moments, garden hands, quiet corners, and everyday sparks that shape what I make and how I grow.
