Friends, is your homepage of your website helping or hurting your biz? The purpose of your homepage is NOT for you to include all the content that YOU think is great! If your homepage is cluttered, it’s dead and is definitely hurting your web traffic.⠀ ⠀ Clutter example: You have a website on learning how to knit. I follow you bc I want to learn how, so I visit your site only to find the homepage features 10 posts from your blog. The first few topics are ??⠀ ⠀ 1.) How to use knitting to combat stress. ⠀ 2.) Trend predictions in knit patterns . ⠀ 3.) Great movies to knit to. ⠀ ⠀ While these are great related posts for your readers who are familiar with your website, they do nothing for new readers. They just don’t belong on the homepage. ⠀ ⠀ If you’re going to feature blog posts on the homepage, they should be cut to a minimum of 3 no more than 4 posts. ⠀ ⠀ The homepage content should be simple with introductory content about who you are and what you do along with a great CTA aka call-to-action. ⠀ ⠀ Don’t confuse your visitors.⠀ DON’T PARALYZE THEM.⠀ ⠀ Decide on what is important and focus on that. Remember confused minds say NO!⠀ ⠀ With love and website wisdom,⠀ -LaShonda ??‍??
