The Difference Between WordPress Websites .com vs .org #websitewednesday

It’s no secret that I’m a complete #Wordpress junkie. It’s one of the most used and most versatile content management systems out there. I’m proud to say that I worked very hard to teach myself everything I know about it. ⠀ I could talk about it for days, but I’ll save that for a blog post. When considering signing up for WordPress, there is WordPress.com or WordPress.org.⠀ ⠀ The main DIFFERENCE is where it’s hosted. With .org you host your own site. With .com it’s hosted by WordPress.⠀ ⠀ If you’re just starting out and maybe not that serious about a site and you don’t want to pay for hosting (which is super cheap btw) then go with .com. You just won’t have as much control over your site.⠀ ⠀ Using .org will give you complete control and the flexibility you need to make it your own. You can use your own domain w/o paying extra $. You can install plugins and themes. Better yet, you can customize your site by tweaking your theme’s code if you know coding.
