Canned Biscuits "French Toast" Casserole

A yummy breakfast French Toast casserole using canned biscuits

Ingredients
  

Casserole

  • 16 oz canned biscuits
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1/3 c whole milk
  • 1/2 c carnation milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Topping

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp butter softened
  • 1/3 c walnuts chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp maple or pancake syrup

Instructions
 

Casserole

  • Beat eggs into a fluffy mixture
  • Add in milks; buttermilk,, can milk, milk
  • Add in cinnamon, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Cut each biscuit into 4 small pieces
  • Place biscuit chunks into a casserole dish, single layer. Use a larger pan if needed. If making more than the 16 oz can, increase recipe ingredients.
  • Pour mixture over biscuits (turn biscuits over to be sure they are coated well.
  • Use just enough mixture to coat biscuits, mixture should be about half way biscuits in pan
  • Cover with foil and bake in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 30 min.
  • Remove biscuits from oven and uncover.

Topping

  • In a small bowl, stir brown sugar, softened butter, syrup, and walnuts
  • Sprinkle topping over biscuits and bake another 15 min on 350 degrees.
  • After 15 min, check casserole for doneness (use a toothpick to stick in casserole, if it comes out clean it is done.
  • Let casserole rest for 10 min
